President of the Malaysian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (MAOMS)
The President of the Malaysian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (MAOMS) is voted into office by members of the Association during the Annual General Meeting (AGM). This role is typically held by a senior member who has demonstrated ongoing commitment to the profession and the objectives of the Association.
The President is responsible for guiding the strategic direction of MAOMS, representing the Association in national and international matters, and supporting efforts to advance the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery in Malaysia. The position also involves promoting professional development, education, and collaboration among practitioners.
The current President of MAOMS is Associate Professor Dr. Nazimi Abd Jabar, who also serves as a council member of the Asian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (Asian AOMS), representing Malaysia at the regional level.
The Immediate Past President serves as Councillor to the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (IAOMS), continuing to represent Malaysian interests and contribute to global initiatives in the specialty.
