The Founding President’s Challenge Trophy

The Malaysian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons is proud to announce the first ever award in the country that recognises outstanding Malaysian Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

The award shall be presented at the MAOMS Fellowship Dinner every two years.

One recipient shall be selected by the MAOMS Council members and Past Presidents who convene specifically for this purpose.

The recipient of the award shall receive a challenge trophy called “The Founding President’s Challenge Trophy for The Outstanding Malaysian Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon“, donated by Dato Dr Sharifah Fauziah Al Habshi, The Founding President of MAOMS.

MEMBERSHIP

Nominees must be current and active MAOMS members with up-to-date membership throughout the selection process and through the date of the award presentation

ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT

Nominees must obtained a comprehensive specialist education and training
Obtained additional nationally / internationally recognised qualifications
Attended additional fellowships training that led to expansion of their scope of service
Impactful publications
Novel/ impactful discoveries
Resource person for clinical practice guidelines / curriculum development or other matters associated with the practice of OMFS in Malaysia

JOB EXPERIENCE

Has served as a specialist for at least 5 years with an impeccable service record

SURGICAL / CINICAL COMPETENCE

Competency in technical knowledge of the best up-to-date means of care as well as skill in delivering it
Developed new impactful services that elevates the status of oral and maxillofacial surgery in the country and / or internationally.

INTEGRITY

Clean record of service, good personality traits and good virtues. Well respected, yet humble. A role model to juniors and peers, good rapport and respected across disciplines

LEADERSHIP

Nominees have been appointed to leadership positions in the association / organisation / conferences
Appointed as surgical mentor
A role model to juniors and peers

INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION

Invited speakers / examiners / consultant
Malaysian representative in international bodies / association / institution
